There is no end to the things that can be done now on the internet. I’m sure many of us could spend a whole day sitting in front of a computer without even noticing the time pass. I know I can. Has technology gone too far or are we just adapting with the times?
I used to go to the supermarket every time I needed to get the week’s shopping, but now I do most of my shopping online. Why? Because so many things have changed over the last decade, with people changing the way they communicate. One to one chats have been exchanged for mobile phones and meetings have been swapped for online web conferences.
Personal training is no different. It used to be that if you were serious about your training, you needed to hire a personal trainer. Unfortunately good personal trainers are expensive and not everyone can afford enough sessions to make it worth it.
Now if you have the money to afford three personal training sessions a week for the next three to six months, then that is definitely going to pay off. But if you don’t there are much more affordable options. If like me you are on a budget, but you are still committed to getting in shape, then signing up for online fitness training may be exactly what you need.
There are other reasons you may want to try online training as in my case there may be a particular trainer you want, but due to distance, price, or whatever, you cannot train with them in person.
Online fitness training and phone coaching can also be very useful if you regularly see a personal trainer, but you are going on holiday or a business trip. Rather than completely letting yourself go for two weeks and starting back at square one when you get back you can stay in contact over the internet or over the phone. This can this can make it much easier to stay in shape.
While this is incredibly convenient, it is not for everyone.
To know if online training right for you, ask yourself these three questions:
1. Can I follow a workout without supervision?
2. Am I willing to give up face to face contact with a personal trainer?
3. Am I willing to keep in contact with my personal trainer for coaching on a regular basis?
If you answered “yes” to even two of these questions, then it is definitely worth it. You will save a lot of money yet you will be getting constant support to help you towards your new body.
